Lane Closures Expected On Capital Beltway Bridges Starting Jan. 31

Multiple lanes will be closed on the I-95/I-495 bridges over Ritchie Marlboro Road near Largo starting Jan. 31.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Multiple lanes will be closed during overnight hours on the I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway) bridges over Ritchie Marlboro Road near Largo. Crews will be repairing the bridge and roads.

All work will happen between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. and should be done by Feb. 7, weather permitting.

Drivers can expect possible triple-lane closures as crews repair bridge expansion joints and the concrete deck driving surface. One direction of I-95/I-495 will be affected per night. The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin repairs on the inner loop (southbound) bridge at 9 p.m. Jan. 31 and will work overnights through 5 a.m. Feb. 2. Crews will then start repairs to the outer loop (northbound) bridge nightly between 9 a.m. Feb. 5 and 5 a.m. Feb. 7.

Roadway signs, cones and barrels will be used to alert motorists about lane closures and bridge work.
