Lane Closures Expected On I-95/I-495 Interchange Spanning Over MD 5

Project managers say that temporary lane closures should be expected on the I-95/I-495 interchange that stretches over MD 5.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Work will start this week on the I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway) interchange stretching over MD 5 (Branch Avenue) in the Temple Hills area of Prince George’s County.

The project includes upgrades on the bridge substructure and beam plating at MD 5, as well as repair of the bridge deck joints on I-95. Weather permitting, the project should be completed next year.

Work will be completed in four phases, according to officials. Temporary single- and double-lane closures will be in effect, along with ramp detours, during off-peak nights and weekends.
