Lane Closures Planned For 8 Major Road Projects Across Prince George's Starting In April
Eight major road projects across Prince George's will require lane closures, according to the state highway administration.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Several road projects are underway across the county and should wrap up before the end of spring. There will be lane closures for the projects.
The projects include removing the top layer of asphalt, paving, patching and restriping. Some of the projects include concrete work on ramps, curbs/gutters and sidewalk reconstruction. The project also includes areas of pavement rehabilitation to extend the life of the pavement.
Drivers can expect single-lane closures during off-peak hours, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and overnights, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The projects in Prince George's County are as follows:
- MD 193 (University Boulevard) between Adelphi Road and the Montgomery County Line is scheduled for milling and paving starting in May 2025 with expected completion by the end of June.
- MD 201 (Kenilworth Avenue) between MD 410 (Riverdale Road) and River Road in the Town of Riverdale Park is scheduled for patching work starting in June with expected completion by the end of June.
- US 301 (Crain Highway) between Frank Tippett Road and S Osborne Road, a span of nearly four miles in Greater Upper Marlboro, is scheduled for overnight patching work starting in April with completion expected in June.
- On the Capital Beltway in Oxon Hill near National Harbor, Exit 3 from the northbound thru lanes to MD 210 southbound is scheduled for patching work starting in late April. Work will take approximately two weeks to complete. A portion of the work will require a single-night ramp closure and associated detour.
- MD 381 (Brandywine Road) between Evergreen Way and Ashbox Road in Brandywine is scheduled for patching work in April and will take approximately one week to complete.
- US 1 (Baltimore Avenue) is scheduled for roadwork at several locations, with completion expected in June:
- C. Line (Eastern Avenue NE) to College Avenue in College Park.
- I-95 to Muikirk Road, a nearly-four mile stretch from College Park to Beltsville/Laurel.
- MD 193 (University Boulevard) to I-95, and
- Muikirk Road to Contee Road.
- MD 197 (Collington Road) between Evergreen Parkway and US 50 in Bowie is scheduled for roadwork starting in May with expected completion by June.
- US 301 between Curtis Road and Marlboro Pike in Greater Upper Marlboro is scheduled for roadwork starting in May with expected completion by June.
