Lane Closures Planned As Crews Tackle US 1 Median Construction Project In College Park

Drivers should expect lane closures as crews work on the median along US 1 in College Park. Work should wrap up by late spring.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Lane closures are expected as the State Highway Administration performs a traffic switch to start median construction on US 1 (Baltimore Avenue) between Lakeland Drive and south of MD 193 (Greenbelt Road) College Park this week.

Weather permitting, this work will wrap up by late spring 2024.

The median construction work is part of the US 1 College Park Improvement Project. The median will be closed as crews build the concrete median. Work will take place weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Single-lane closures northbound and southbound also will be in effect.
