RIVERDALE, MD -- A man has been taken into custody in connection with a fatal shooting in Riverdale over the weekend.

Police arrested 39-year-old James Jacob Young of Temple Hills on first and second degree murder and related charges in the shooting death of 40-year-old Curtis Mosley of Hyattsville, according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department.

Police responded to the 6000 block of Patterson Street at around 7:45 p.m. on June 15 to a report of a shooting, and they found Mosley suffering from gunshot wounds, the report states. He died at the hospital a few hours later.

Police say Mosley and Young knew each other, and that in the moments after the shooting, "the victim told witnesses the name of the person who had just shot him."

Young is in custody in D.C. awaiting extradition to Prince George's County.
