Man Drives Over 100 MPH With 2 Children In Car: Police
Police said the car was traveling 116 mph in a construction zone area on Indian Head Highway in Prince George's County.

FORT WASHINGTON, MD — A man driving over 100 mph with two young children in the car was arrested as part of the ongoing "Indian Head Highway Traffic Initiative" conducted by Prince George's County Police and Maryland State Police.
The man was arrested in the area of Indian Head Highway and Old Fort Road in Fort Washington at about 8 a.m. Oct. 23. Police said the car was traveling 116 mph in a construction zone area where the speed limit is 55 mph. There was a young child in the front passenger seat without a child safety seat and a 6-month-old baby in the rear seat, police said.
While investigating, officers determined the driver had been pulled over multiple times for speeding and did not have a valid license. The driver was arrested and faces multiple traffic charges, police said.

The initiative started in early September in an effort to reduce unsafe driving along Indian Head Highway. The initiative has resulted in over 3,100 traffic citations, more than 175 commercial vehicle inspections and multiple arrests, police said.
Police will continue to focus on enforcing traffic laws on this roadway. Police ask you to call 911 if you see unsafe driving behavior.
