Man Struck By Truck In Hit-And-Run In PG County (UPDATES)

UPDATES: A D.C. man was struck by a tractor-trailer in a hit-and-run on the Beltway Monday night, police said.

(Updated at 10:55 a.m. Wednesday): LANHAM, MD — A Washington, DC man was struck by a tractor-trailer in a hit-and-run on the Beltway Monday night, Maryland State Police said.

Police said the incident occurred at about 9:45 p.m. on southbound I-495/95 south of Goodluck Road in Lanham.

A witness told police that a tractor-trailer drove onto the right shoulder and struck the rear driver side portion of the victim’s vehicle. The truck then struck the pedestrian that was standing on the right shoulder near his disabled vehicle, police said.

The victim has been identified as Josue Exsau Vasquez, 28, of Washington, D.C. He sustained injuries to his head, arm and leg and was transported to University of Maryland Prince George’s Hospital Center for treatment.

The truck driver sped off after hitting the man, police said. Witnesses were unable to provide any information on the striking tractor-trailer.
