Maryland Weather Forecast: Cool Off This Week Before Another Hot Weekend

We'll start the week with a chance for afternoon showers Monday, and partly sunny Tuesday.

But the real weather story this week is the cooler temps.

Monday will still be in the 90s, but cool air moves into the area on Tuesday and we'll have several days in the 80s. The high Wednesday will be the mid-80s!

But, the break from the heat is short lived. We'll be back in the 90s by Friday, setting up a very hot weekend.

Here's the latest forecast from the National Weather Service:

Monday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 93. Light southwest wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 88. Northwest wind 6 to 9 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 88.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 93.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 95.
