Pedestrian Killed In Seat Pleasant Area Of Prince George's County
Wayne Tonio Davis, 63, from Suitland was fatally struck by a car as he tried to cross a street in Seat Pleasant Friday night, police said.

SEAT PLEASANT, MD — A 63-year-old Suitland man was fatally struck by a car as he tried to cross a street in Seat Pleasant Friday night, police said.
Police responded to East Capitol Street and Yost Place for a collision involving a pedestrian at about 7:30 p.m. Arriving officers located the victim suffering from the crash—identified as Wayne Tonio Davis of Kendrick Road. Davis was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Davis was struck as he tried to cross East Capitol Street, and police believe he was not in a crosswalk. The driver of the vehicle that struck Davis remained on the scene and was later taken to a hospital for an evaluation.

A second driver that collided with the back of the first vehicle fled, police said. Investigators are working to identify and locate the second driver. Preliminarily, it does not appear that the fleeing vehicle struck Davis or contributed to the collision his death, police said. The fleeing car is described as a Sedan, possibly a Buick, police said. It may have front-end damage.
