PG County Man Arrested For Child Porn: Police

ACCOKEEK, MD — A 23-year-old man from Accokeek was arrested Wednesday morning on charges of possessing and distributing child pornography, Maryland State Police announced.

Austin Whyte was charged with three counts of distribution of child pornography and six counts of possession of child pornography, police said. He was arrested at his home without incident at about 8:45 a.m. Wednesday and is currently awaiting an appearance before a court commissioner.

Police said a preliminary forensic review of Whyte's electronic devices indicated it held multiple files of child pornography.

The Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force became involved after receiving a referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in reference to the distribution of child pornography from Whyte's specific internet address, police said.
