PG County Man Charged With Murder In Infant's Death
Police said the man was babysitting the 7-month-old when he was found unresponsive in a Montgomery County home.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A Bladensburg man has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a 7-month-old boy in Montgomery County, authorities said.
Terron Christopher Matasaran, 36, was arrested Tuesday and charged with second-degree murder and first-degree child abuse, five months after the infant's death, Montgomery County police said in a news release.
According to authorities, police responded to the 11600 block of Stewart Lane just after 11 a.m. on Sept. 23 after receiving a call about an unresponsive baby boy.

Matasaran, a friend of the family who had been babysitting the child, told police the infant had fallen, authorities said. According to police, he called the child’s mother, who returned home from work to find her baby unresponsive. The mother called 911 and began CPR until first responders arrived, but the infant was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner performed an autopsy on the infant and discovered he suffered a head injury and rib fractures. His cause of death was ruled a homicide.

An arrest warrant for Matasaran was issued Monday and he was taken into custody a day later at his place of employment in Bladensburg.
Matasaranis being held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
