Prince George's Schools Ranks In Top 20 Nationwide For National Board Certified Teachers
The Prince George's County Public School System ranks in the top 20 nationwide for the number of National Board Certified teachers.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Prince George’s County Public Schools has ranked among the top 20 school districts nationwide for National Board Certified teachers.
This year, 97 PGCPS educators achieved National Board Certification — the highest professional distinction in teaching — while 27 experienced teachers renewed their certification. PGCPS now has 635 National Board Certified teachers, including 503 with active certifications.
“Excellence in teaching starts with educators who push the boundaries of their profession, and we are proud to have so many of them in PGCPS,” said PGCPS Superintendent Millard House II. “National Board Certified teachers bring unparalleled expertise and leadership to our classrooms, creating transformative learning experiences for students. As we expand professional development opportunities and recruit outstanding educators, we welcome more teachers to join our district and grow their careers with us.”
