Ramp Closures, Lane Closures Required For I-95 Resurfacing Project
A resurfacing project on I-95 will require ramp closures, lane closures and lane shifts across Prince George's County starting Monday.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Lane closures and lane shifts will be part of a resurfacing project affecting I-95 starting June 10 that also will require complete ramp closures.
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration's project includes milling where they remove the top layer of asphalt and paving operations. The pavement improvement project should wrap up in early July, weather permitting.
Crews will begin the resurfacing project on southbound I-95 between the Howard County line to MD 212 (Powder Mill Road) then will begin the northbound lanes of I-95 between the Howard County line and Brooklyn Bridge Road.

Work will take place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays and will require lane shifts and occasional triple-lane closures. Closing three travel lanes during work hours will provide a buffer between the paved area and the open travel lane.
Starting the week of June 16, crews will start resurfacing all the ramps at the I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway)/ MD 295 (Baltimore-Washington Parkway) interchange. Work will take place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays and will require total ramp closures and detours.
