Shootout Between Vehicles In PG County: Police

NEW CARROLLTON, MD -- A shootout between the occupants of two vehicles left two men in critical condition in New Carrollton Thursday afternoon, police say.

Police responded to the area of Annapolis Road and Finns Lane at around 3:35 p.m. to a report of a shooting, and found two men who had been shot and had to be taken to the hospital in critical condition, Prince George's County Police tweeted.

"Preliminarily we believe the shooting involved occupants in two separate vehicles," police said in a follow-up tweet. "We are working to locate the second vehicle."

Police are still investigating the motive for the shooting.
