Suspect In Double Fatal Shooting Arrested On Murder Charge

The suspect in a double fatal shooting on Friday night in Suitland has been arrested and faces several charges, including murder.

SUITLAND, MD — The suspect in a double fatal shooting Friday night has been arrested and charged with murder.

On March 28 around 10:30 p.m., Prince George's police officers were called to the 4000 block of Silver Hill Road for a report of a shooting. They found 32-year-old Antonio Magruder of District Heights inside a business with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Darrell Mason, 56, of Suitland was found inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound. He died a short time later at the hospital. A third man was shot but his injuries weren't considered life-threatening, according to police.

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s homicide unit has identified and charged 31-year-old Marc Carter with two counts of first- and second-degree murder, along with other charges. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. The preliminary investigation revealed Carter knew one of the victims. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
