Suspect Indicted In Murder Of 3 Young Girls In Prince George's County

Antonio Williams was indicted on three counts of first-degree murder for allegedly killing his 6-year-old sister and two cousins.

CLINTON, MD — The 25-year-old Clinton man accused of murdering three young girls in Clinton was indicted on three counts of first-degree murder by a grand jury Tuesday. Antonio Williams allegedly murdered his 6-year-old sister and two other little girls, who were relatives visiting from New Jersey, on Aug. 18, authorities say. The victims are his sister, Nadira Withers, and cousins Ariana Decree, 9, and Ajayah Decree, 6.

"The evidence is extremely strong in the case, and we believe that we will be able to return convictions,” Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks said.

The triple homicide occurred in a house in the 6400 block of Brooke Jane Drive in Clinton Aug. 18. Police were called to the home at about 7:34 a.m. when Withers’ mother had just returned home from work and discovered the victims. The victims were found in their beds suffering from stab wounds and pronounced dead on the scene, police said.

Williams was deemed competent to stand trial on Sept. 7. According to WTOP, the hearing "erupted into a near-brawl between divided family members."

WTOP reports Williams was heard from outside the courtroom shouting for his mother. His mother reportedly stood up and screamed, "He needs me!" as Williams was escorted out of the courtroom and screamed.

The homicide scene was what police spokesperson Jennifer Donelan called "one of the most difficult scenes" Prince George's County officers have investigated. Counseling services were on the scene of the murder working with the first arriving officers, police said.

The Decree sisters are from Palm Street in Newark, and they are the daughters of the suspect’s mother’s cousin, police said. They were visiting Clinton and on vacation.

The preliminary investigation reveals Williams had sole care and custody of the children at the home overnight into Friday.
