Veterans Day In PG County 2017: What's Open, What's Closed

Veterans Day falls on a Saturday this year, so what does that mean for residents of Prince George's County?

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Veterans Day is right around the corner, and that means confusion over what's actually open and what will be closed. This year, Nov. 11 falls on a Saturday, so it's even more confusing.

Here's a quick guide on what is open and what is closed in Prince George's County Friday, Nov. 10:

  • Government offices, with the exception of public safety agencies: Closed
  • Animal Services Facility: Closed
  • Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill: Open
  • Brown Station Road Public Convenience Center: Open
  • Electronics Recycling Acceptance Site: Open
  • Household Hazardous Waste Acceptance Site: Open
  • Missouri Avenue Solid Waste Acceptance, Recycling Center: Open
  • Prince George’s County Organics Composting Facility: Open
  • Prince George’s County Materials Recycling Facility: Open
  • Bulky Trash Collection: No collection, resumes Monday
  • Trash Collection in County-Contracted Areas: Regular Friday collections
  • Curbside Recycling Collection: Regular Friday collections
  • County Yard Trim Collections: Regular collections on Monday

TheBus will operate a regular route service on Friday, November 10, 2017 except for Route 51 which serves County government buildings. Regular service on Route 51 will resume on Monday, November 13, 2017.

The County's Call-A-Bus service, including senior transportation services, will not operate on Friday. Regular operations resume on Monday.

The Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement (DPIE) will be closed on Friday. Regular business hours will resume on Monday.

Prince George’s County Click 3-1-1 will be closed on Friday and will resume regular operations on Monday. However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online at www.countyclick311.com/.
