What's Open, Closed In Prince George's County On Columbus Day 2017?
State and federal government offices will be closed but not schools. Here's a rundown of the holiday schedule for key entities.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Columbus Day is that relatively odd holiday during which most traditional closings are the norm — unless they're not.
Here's a brief rundown of what's open and what's not Monday in Prince George's County:
Government offices: It's a federal holiday, so federal and state government offices are closed, while Montgomery County offices are open.

Schools: Oct. 10 is a normal school day for Prince George's County Public Schools.
Post offices: The day is a holiday for postal workers, so don’t expect mail delivery and your local post office is closed.

Banks: Most banks are closed for Columbus Day, with a few exceptions, including Wells Fargo and TD Bank.
Grocery and retail stores: Major grocery store chains will operate normal hours on Monday, as will retailers like Target and Walmart.
Transit services: The Maryland Department of Transportation’s Maryland Transit Administration will operate the following schedule on Columbus Day:
- Local Bus: Regular Weekday Schedule
- Metro Subway: Regular Weekday Schedule
- Light Rail: Regular Weekday Schedule
- MARC Train: Will operate the "R" weekday schedule on all three lines
- Commuter Bus: No Service (Bus Route 201 will operate on a Weekend/Holiday schedule)
- Mobility: RegularSchedule. Standing rides/subscription trips will be honored. Customers are urged to contact the Mobility Call Center at 410-764-8181 to cancel a standing ride/subscription trip for Monday, October 9. Mobility Call Center: Regular Hours – 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (for next day and future rides)
