Job Shadow Day Gives JTCC Students Glimpse of 'Real World'
Students from the JTCC School participated in the first annual job shadow week.
Students from the JTCC School participated in the first annual job shadow Week. Students donned hard hats, Blazers and Neon Vests as they set out to learn the inner workings of a multitude of different professions
“I didn't know that different jobs correlates together,” sophomore Andrew Fenty said. “It’s a team effort.” Fenty shadowed the CEO of tech start up Phone2Action and said Learning programming was the most interesting part. “It was amazing. I would recommend any child or teen my age to learn what goes into certain jobs.”
The purpose of job shadow day is to expose students to various professional options.

Junior Spencer Bozsik, who shadowed the College Park City Manager, is proof of that.
“I never thought I would find myself intrigued by the planning of the city,” Bozsik said. “I might consider this one day. In order to keep everything running in College Park you need to learn how to finance and budget. The City Managers Job incorporates all that.”

The students all agreed that job shadow day was a success and that they would be happy to do it again.
