More Proof that Spring is Coming: Rita's Opens for Business
Rita's un-shutters its doors Friday for the first time since October.

Signs of spring are popping up all over College Park -- this week, the Washington Area Bicyclist Association opened , and photos from our reveal that some tenacious buds are already blossoming on trees.
But one of the surest signs of spring is the re-opening of Rita's Ice Custard, located at 8900 Baltimore Ave. After hibernating all winter long, the purveyor of cool treats un-boarded its doors Friday afternoon and will keep them open all summer long.
Store manager Gail Clements said that in addition to perennial favorites like mango cream ice, Rita's is debuting a few new flavors -- strawberry banana, cheesecake and iced coffee have been added to the lineup, with more to come later in the season.
