2nd Recycling Center Fire In A Month Breaks Out At Elkridge Building
Firefighters were called to a paper recycling center Tuesday night for a report of a fire. A fire broke out there last month, too.

ELKRIDGE, MD — A second fire in less than a month's time erupted at a recycling facility Tuesday around 6 p.m. in Elkridge.
On March 11 around 6 p.m., firefighters were called to the commercial building in the 7100 block of Kit Kat Road in Elkridge for a report of a fire. Once there, firefighters found several small fires along a conveyor belt system. Once the machinery was opened and inspected, the fires were brought under control, the fire department stated. No injuries were reported.
On Feb. 18, Howard County firefighters were dispatched around 5:20 p.m. to the same commercial building located for a report of a fire. Crews found a fire within the waste conveyor system of a large commercial building. It took firefighters around an hour to gain control of the blaze. The cause of the fire was reportedly due to a mechanical malfunction, the fire department stated.
