Detectives identified Marshall as the suspect in mall security footage and obtained a warrant for his arrest. Police on Aug. 5, 2024, released surveillance video that shows Marshall's movements through the mall leading up to and after the shooting. Marshall is seen on video at a table in the food court with his head down until Little walks toward the bathroom hallway.

The footage shows Marshall get up from the table and follow Little. He waits for Little to leave the bathroom, then fires one fatal shot from behind and runs through a back door, the police department said. Responding officers found a gun on Little and investigators determined he was injured in a shooting in April 2023. No arrest was made in that case and it is unknown whether the two incidents are related, police said. The video can be seen on the HCPD website.
