Anthony Scot Pullen, 58, Of Columbia
Pullen helped pioneer the reentry program for those at the Howard County Detention Center.

Anthony Scot Pullen passed away on Feb. 24. He was 58.
Pullen, who lived in Columbia, worked for Howard County and helped implement the reentry program. He led nearly 200 reentry classes at the Howard County Detention Center, educating inmates about possible challenges of life after incarceration and offering solutions.
He also developed partnerships with approximately 120 agencies to help inmates successfully transition from detention to civilian life. For example, he made overtures with the MVA to help inmates get their driver's licenses and worked with the Maryland Division of Vital Records so inmates could get their birth certificates.

After laying the groundwork for Howard County's reentry program and partnering with the Governor's Office of Crime Control and Prevention, Pullen assisted seven other counties — Carroll, Charles, Frederick, Harford, Prince George's, Washington and Wicomico — with developing theirs.
Pullen is survived by many loving family members and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, at the Roger Carter Community Center, 3000 Milltowne Dr., Ellicott City.
There is an Anthony Scot Pullen Memorial Fund through the Community Foundation of Howard County.
