HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Howard County’s Department of Community Resources and Services will host its annual Child Care Fair Feb. 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the North Laurel Community Center, 9411 Whiskey Bottom Road in Laurel. Admission is free and attendees are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item or unopened pack of diapers or wipes to donate to the Howard County Food Bank.
“As parents and guardians, we all want to make the best decisions for our children and prepare them to be ready and successful students,” said Howard County Executive Calvin Ball. “I encourage all our families to take advantage of this ‘one stop shop’ to learn more about child care options and programs available right here in Howard County geared towards helping our youngest residents on a path for positive development."
The Child Care Fair provides parents, guardians, grandparents and child care personnel with a “one stop shop” for information on child care, preschool and summer programs, as well as access to early child care teachers and program directors. OCF staff will also hold free information sessions on “How to Choose an Early Childhood Program” at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Though not required, registration is recommended so event organizers can contact attendees in case of inclement weather on the day of the event.
