Free Concerts, Family-Friendly Activities This Summer At Color Burst Park

The 5th annual Summer Series with free, outdoor programming at Color Burst Park includes live music and family-friendly activities.

COLUMBIA, MD — The Merriweather District has kicked off its 5th annual Summer Series – a three-month celebration of free, outdoor programming at Color Burst Park, which runs from June through September.

AMPED in the Park, the Merriweather District’s free outdoor concert series with live music and local eats will have its second free concert on June 26 featuring Sons of Mystro.

Sons of Mystro (brothers Malcolm, 29, and Umoja, 26) use their violins to interpret reggae classics, American pop songs and their own creations, accompanied by a DJ and a drummer. Winners of the Emerging Artist under 21 Years Old award at IRAWMA (International Reggae and World MusicAwards), they have appeared on Showtime at the Apollo and Steve Harvey.

Good Kid-izen programming is family friendly and offers children engaging experiences to help them learn what it means to be a good citizen. Outdoor activities in Color Burst Park in downtown Columbia include creative crafts and games to teach the values of kindness, responsibility and community.
