Forecast will push us to 90 degrees this weekend, with a brief shot at severe weather. Here's the latest local forecast.
Mornings in the 50s? We've got one more before we hit summer-like temperatures and stay there. Particularly, as we head close to 90-degree weather on Saturday and Sunday.
We'll start out the weekend with a slight chance for storms Friday and Saturday. If storms do appear on Saturday, there's a chance they will be severe, according to the National Weather Service.
But the real story this weekend is the warming temperatures, as a weather system moves into the region and decides to hang around.

Daytime highs will be 88 degrees on Saturday and up to 90 degrees on Sunday and climbing even higher as you get closer to D.C. We'll wake up Friday morning with a low around 54 degrees, but lows overnight Saturday and into Sunday will climb to a muggy 73 degrees.
Temperatures will cool heading into next week, with chances for severe weather returning by mid-week.

- Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. Light south wind becoming west 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
- Saturday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 73. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
- Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 90.
- Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 62.
- Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79.
