Howard County General Hospital Ready to Handle Emergencies
A hospital spokesperson said emergency plans are in place.

Howard County General Hospital is fully funtional and backup generators are in place to provide continuous emergency care during Hurricane Sandy.
A spokesperson for the hospital wrote in a statement that contingency plans are in place to ensure that staff will arrive and be able to provide continuous care during the storm, including a fully staffed emergency department.

"As Hurricane Sandy continues to pound our region, please rest assured that Howard County General Hospital remains up and running and caring for our patients," wrote a hospital spokesperson in a release.
The spokesperson said most injuries related to the storm so far have been the result of car accidents. Howard County officials are warning residents to stay off the roads.
