HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The public can attend the October meeting of the Howard County Office of Emergency Management were representatives from the Howard County Police Department will discuss how to prepare and respond in an active assailant situation.

The in-person meeting will take place Oct. 17 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Gary J. Arthur Community Center in Cooksville. Held quarterly, the goal of these department meetings is to enhance Howard County’s preparedness and response to emergencies by involving the government, private businesses, non-profit organizations and residents in planning and preparing for natural and human-caused disasters and other incidents.
