Maryland Weather Forecast: More Rain Before Clearing Skies Late This Weekend

After Thursday's storms, we're going to see more rain Friday and Saturday morning before the skies finally clear for a tolerable end to the weekend, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service.

Friday will see a chance of showers, continued wind and cool temperatures — just 66 degrees. The chance for rain continues through most of Saturday, though temperatures will reach the mid-70s.

The weather finally starts to clear by Sunday, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 75. That's also how we'll start the workweek, but things will cool off noticeably and we'll hang in the low 70s, with lows in the 50s, for the rest of the week.

If the forecast holds up, we could see overnight lows next weekend in the 40s, according to AccuWeather.

Before we get there, the big weather story will be Hurricane Matthew and whether we'll see any impacts here. The storm is expected to turn north and move over Cuba and the Bahamas by Wednesday.

Friday Afternoon: Areas of drizzle with a chance of showers before 2pm, then a chance of showers after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 66. Northeast wind around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Friday Night: Showers likely before 8pm, then periods of drizzle with showers likely between 8pm and 2am, then showers likely after 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 61. Northeast wind 9 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Saturday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 72. Northeast wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75. Light and variable wind.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75.
