Photos of the Day: Police Investigate Suspicious Mound
At the site, police had set up a tent and shovels.
Howard County police, including forensic specialists, investigated a suspicious mound inside Long Reach Park on a rainy Tuesday afternoon.
Police spokesperson Mary Phelan said police were called to the location off Deep Earth Lane after receiving a report about the mound.

They were at the site since at least 10:45 a.m. Tuesday morning, according to neighbors at the scene. At the site, police had set up a tent and shovels to dig into an approximately 10 by 10 square feet section of dirt.
Around 2 p.m., Howard County police lieutenant Aaron Dobrowsky reported nothing was found inside the mound at the scene.
