Shots Fired During Assault On Woman In Columbia
A woman reported being assaulted by a man and another woman when a 3rd person fired a gun, according to Howard County Police.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A woman reported being assaulted by two people and a third person fired a gun when a friend of the victim intervened.
The incident happened April 12 around 8:12 p.m. in the 5600 block of Harpers Farm Road in Columbia. The woman told Howard County Police that she was approached by a man and a woman who assaulted her. When the woman's friend stepped in to help protect her, a third suspect fired gunshots then all three suspects fled the scene, police reported.
No one was injured and no property was hit by gunfire. Police officers did recover shell casings at the scene, the department stated.

In other police news, a resident reported a burglary at their Ellicott City home located in the 5000 block of Lindera Court April 11 between 6:45 and 9:15 p.m. The suspect broke a window, entered the home and stole cash, jewelry and purses.
