SUV Stolen By Teens Crashes Head On Into Vehicle, Killing Driver: Howard County Police
A Columbia woman has died after Howard County Police say she was hit head-on by a stolen vehicle driven by teenagers.
JESSUP, MD — A woman has died after being involved in a head-on crash with a stolen vehicle driven by teenagers.
Shortly after 3 p.m. Friday, a 2017 Hyundai Sonata was heading eastbound on Guilford Road when it crossed the double yellow line in an attempt to pass a 2021 Tesla Model Y as the Tesla was attempting to turn left onto Twelve Sons Court. The Hyundai sideswiped the Tesla, then sideswiped a 2010 Honda Fit before colliding head-on with a 2021 Honda Civic, according to Howard County Police.
Four teens jumped out of the Hyundai and took off running. One of the teens was injured in the crash and taken to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. He was listed as in serious but stable condition as of Saturday. The other three teens are still at large. Police stated the Hyundai was stolen.

The driver of the Honda Civic, Bonnie Fuller Griffith, 69, of Columbia, was taken to Howard County General Hospital where she was pronounced dead, the police department stated. No one else was injured.
The investigation is ongoing and charges have not yet been filed, the police department reported. Guilford Road was closed at Mission Road for approximately four hours.
