Yappy Hour

·      When:  Friday, Aug. 2, 6-9 p.m.

·      Description:  Dog owners are invited to bring well behaved dogs to a wine tasting. During nice weather, Yappy Hour is held in the parking lot with live music. ·      Description:  Two Oakland Mills women will be tending bar to raise funds for 'Girls on the run of Central Maryland' to run in the Iron Girl triathlon. Ten percent of all sales at Second Chance Saloon will be donated to their fund.

·      Cost: Donations and a portion of sales benefit Girls on the Run        

Summer Saturday Nature Series: Morning Birdwalk

·      Where:  Benjamin Banneker Park & Museum, 300 Oella Ave, Catonsville

·      When:  Saturday, Aug. 3, 1 – 2 p.m.

·      Description:  Guided walk of the park and bird watching.

·      Cost: Call ahead to register – space is limited. 410-887-1081

 Pit Beef Sale

·      Where:  2920 Jessup Rd. Jessup, Md. 20794, Corner of Rt. 175 & Wigley Ave.

·      When:  Saturday, Aug. 3, 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

·      Description:  Pit beef, Pit Ham, Pit turkey, Steamed corn on the cob, Watermelon, chips and drinks for sale by the Jessup Improvement Association. 

·      Cost:  Free to attend.  Food available for purchase.

Howard County Farm -2- Table Restaurant Weeks

·      Where:  Throughout Howard County

·      When:  July 17 – Aug. 5.

·      Description:   Howard County’s Top Chefs are serving up twenty days of savings and sensational home grown flavor. Enjoys fabulous FIXED PRICES on multi course chefs’ menus from $10.13 to $40.13.

·      Cost: Depending on restaurant – dishes range from $10.13 to $40.13

Howard County Fair

·      Where:  2210 Fairgrounds Rd, West Friendship

·      When:  Aug. 3 – Aug. 10, 8 a.m. – 11 p.m.

·      Description:  Livestock shows, commercial exhibits, petting farm, rides, horse shows, entertainment, home arts, horse and tractor pulls.

·      Cost: $5

Ye Haunted History of Olde Ellicott City Ghost Tour

·      Where:  8267 Main Street, Ellicott City

·      When:  Friday, Aug. 2 – Saturday, Aug. 3  

·      Description:  Part 1 and part 2 ghost tours (they don't need to be taken consecutively) relating the most recent eye-witness accounts of paranormal activity in the historic district. Not recommended for children under 6 years old. Ask about ASL tours.

·      Cost: $13 Adults, $11 Children (12 & under) & Seniors(65+) and Active Military Personnel & their Families.
