Edgemere Dollar General Store to Celebrate Opening Saturday
The new convenience store at 6808 North Point Road will offer prizes, giveaways at its official grand opening ceremony.

The new Dollar General store in Edgemere will hold its official grand opening ceremony Saturday with prize giveaways and special deals.
The convenience store at 6808 North Point Road—the former site of Edgemere Bowl—opened a couple of weeks ago but will throw an official celebration beginning at 8 a.m. to mark its entry into the Edgemere community, according to a statement from the company.
The first 50 shoppers of the day will each receive a $10 Dollar General gift card. The first 200 shoppers will receive a Dollar General tote bag and other giveaways may be planned, according to the statement.

Dollar General delivers a "pleasant shopping experience that includes a convenient location, a wide assortment of merchandise and great prices on quality products," according to Gayle Aertker, the company's vice president of real estate and store development.
“We hope our Edgemere customers will enjoy shopping at Dollar General’s new location," Aertker said in the statement.

Traditional Dollar General stores employ six to 10 people, depending on the need, according to the company. Anyone interested in a job with the chain may visit the career section of Dollar General's website.
