It's Official: Dundalk's Lewis Melcher Blast's Biggest Fan
The St. Helena man won a Facebook contest held by the indoor soccer team.
St. Helena resident Lewis Melcher has long considered himself one of the most loyal Baltimore Blast fans on the planet.
But now he's officially the team's Biggest Fan, the Blast announced Monday.
Melcher, who owns an extensive collection of Blast memorabilia and rarely misses a home game, has been named the Baltimore Blast's Biggest Fan by way of a contest held through the team's Facebook page.
As the designated Biggest Fan, Melcher wins four season tickets to the 2013-14 Blast season. The team plays its home games at the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore.
Melcher's passion for all things Baltimore Blast was featured in a Dundalk Patch article in May.
He also asked Dundalk Patch readers to vote for him in the online contest.
"It felt great to win!" he said in an email to Dundalk Patch on Monday. "I honestly think I won the contest because I had the support of so many MISL players and Blast fans."
