Your Photos: Memorial Day 2013 in Dundalk

Share with your Dundalk-Edgemere neighbors photos of your Memorial Day celebration.

Memorial Day is a day set aside to honor the nation's war dead. The traditional date to observe Memorial Day is May 30, a date set aside in 1868 by order of Gen. John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic.

A Congressional act in 1971 designed to create three-day weekends of many federal holidays declared that Memorial Day would be observed each year on the last Monday in May.

Whether you plan to attend one of many local remembrance ceremonies, are throwing a backyard cookout for family members and friends or are using the day off to plant your vegetable garden, we want to know how you are spending the holiday.
