2 'Seriously Injured' in Davidsonville Crash

A serious crash on westbound Maryland Route 50 at Rutland Road sent two people to the hospital early Tuesday, according to Lt. Keith Hamilton of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.

Firefighters and medical units responded around 2:15 a.m. when they found two people "seriously injured." One, a 19-year-old woman, was transported to Prince George’s Hospital Center while the other was flown to Anne Arundel Medical Center, Hamilton said.

“Due to the severity of the injury, we needed to go to the closest hospital,” Hamilton said. “Usually if that happens, it’s a pretty grave situation.”

Hamilton said he did not know the age and gender of the second injured person.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department did not immediately know the status of the injured passengers.
