3 Local Teachers Make County's Top 50 List

Educators from Central Elementary, Mayo Elementary and Southern High were nominated for the 2012 Anne Arundel County Teacher of the Year.

Three local educators will be honored in April’s Excellence in Education banquet, hosted by Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS).

Kelly Dillon of , Keri Farrish of and Mark Schrader of will each be commended along with 44 other teachers for their hard work and dedication to county students.

The event will culminate with the announcements of the 2012 Anne Arundel County Public and Private School Teachers of the Year. The winner will go on to represent Anne Arundel County at the Maryland State Teacher of the Year competition, according to an AACPS release.

“Every day in our classrooms, our teachers are creating brighter futures not just for our children, but for all of us,” Superintendent Kevin Maxwell said in a release. “It is thrilling to be able to spotlight that.”

The banquet will take place April 16 at the BWI Marriott in Linthicum.
