Specialist To Assess Edgewater Elementary
A consulting firm specializing in "indoor environment quality" will perform a review of the facility Wednesday and Thursday. Parents are invited to attend and voice their concern.
Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) informed parents Tuesday that their children’s school will receive the attention of Building Dynamics, an industrial hygiene and mechanical engineering consultant.

In a message left by AACPS spokesman Bob Mosier on parents's phones, Mosier said Building Dynamics specializes in “indoor environmental quality” and will conduct a review of the school’s facility Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The company’s president, Ed Light, will review the building’s maintenance history, look at classrooms, evaluate crawl spaces and make recommendations, according to Mosier’s message.
Mosier also recommended that parents “drop by the school” during Light’s time at Edgewater Elementary to express their concerns about the environment throughout the building.

Parents say symptoms students suffer are directly linked to the schools “unhealthy conditions,” according to PTA President Jenny Corkhill.
Their concerns are so severe that some parents are threatening to from Edgewater Elementary if upgrades and air-quality tests aren’t conducted.
