ATW Hardware & Supply Officially Closed in Edgewater
Open since 1988, the store closed this week due to poor sales.
As recently as last week ATW Hardware & Supply was advertising 70 percent off its remaining goods, but Wednesday finds the store, an Edgewater institution, closed.
A sign hanging on the door announced the it was closed and issued a thank you to loyal customers.
Famous for its wacky roof displays intended to draw in customers, the store announced earlier this summer that is was closing down after operating in Edgewater for 25 years.
The owners said the store simply was not generating enough money to remain open.
