Benefits Experts to Talk 'Obamacare' in South County
Health insurance marketplaces open for enrollment in October.

Confused on what the Affordable Care Act might mean for you?
Two benefits experts will talk about the impact of health care exchanges and the individual marketplaces set to open this fall in an information session next week in Deale, sponsored by the South County Chamber of Commerce.
David Reilly and April Ewaski of Reilly Benefits will speak at the Happy Harbor Restaurant (533 Deale Rd.) next Tuesday from 8:30 to 10 a.m.
The Affordable Care Act, also known as "Obamacare," mandated the creation of online health insurance marketplaces, either state-run (like Maryland's) or operated by the federal government for states that opt not to set one up. The marketplaces will offer insurance to individuals who don't get insurance through an employer.
The marketplaces open for enrollment nationwide on Oct. 1, with coverage to start under the new plans on Jan. 1.
In July, Maryland insurance officials approved the lowest marketplace premiums in the country, The Huffington Post reports.
Interested attendees must register online. Registration is $15 for Southern Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce members or $20 for non-members. Continental breakfast will be served.
