Celebrate MLK Day by Cleaning Up Watershed Area
Spend part of your Monday giving back to the local waterways.
The South River Federation is inviting the south county community to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day by giving back to the watershed.
On Monday from 10 a.m. to noon, the South River Federation plans to clean up trash along Truman Parkway in a preventative effort to maintain cleanliness at Broad Creek and the South River.
Gloves and safety vests will be provided, according to volunteer coordinator Jennifer Carr. She recommended that people wear closed-toed shoes and appropriate clothing.

The cleaning effort is a great way for students to get additional community service hours, but all are welcome.
Carr asked that those planning to attend RSVP her at Jennifer@southriverfederation.net.
