Chick-fil-A Celebrating Seahawks Championship
By simply saying "Go Seahawks" or wearing South River High Seahawks clothing, residents can get a free chicken sandwich Thursday night.

After winning the last Wednesday in , the community is set to get another treat after Edgewater’s announced it is holding a special appreciation night.
“We’re having a South River Boys Lacrosse Appreciation Night for their state championship,” said Chick-fil-A manager Joey Dewey. “The lacrosse team had an amazing season, including five all county [players] and one All American [player].”

From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, the local is giving away free chicken sandwiches to any patron that says “Go Seahawks” or wears anything related to the South River Seahawks.
Last Wednesday, South River’s boys lacrosse team in the state championship, only to come back and win 10-8—claiming their second state title in four years.

Dewey, a 2009 graduate of , said several current South River students work at the Chick-fil-A off of Solomons Island Road and that the restaurant is focused on connecting and caring with the Edgewater community.
“I think [the appreciation night] is a great opportunity for Chick-fil-A to further build an emotional connection with the community,” Dewey said. “Chick-fil-A’s goal is to serve fresh and delicious food while promoting community connections … by aiming to enrich the lives of everyone who interacts with our company.”
The special chicken sandwich giveaway is sure to draw a big crowd, so get there early.
