Doctors Express Set To Open This Weekend
Doctor's Express urgent care center hopes to redefine the urgent care experience for patients and physicians.
By Mitchelle Stephenson
Doctors Express is opening Saturday in Edgewater. The office will cater to urgent care for patients who can’t be seen by their own physicians or don’t want to go to the emergency room. The office accepts most major insurance companies.
Owners Ginni and Rick Morani will handle the paperwork side of the business while Dr. Rinde Fadirepo and his team of physicians will focus on patients. An emergency room (ER) physician out of Towson established the working model for the office.

This is the fourth Doctor’s Express location in Maryland. Each franchise is independently owned and operated. The three other Doctors Express locations in Maryland are in Towson, Timonium and Pikesville.
Dr. Fadirepo completed his medical school work in Minnesota and then finished his residency at Duke University in North Carolina. He worked in private practice north of Baltimore but then decided last year that he wanted to do more urgent care.

“I heard of Doctor Express and it is a great partnership between business people and doctors,” Fadirepo said.
One of the things he liked best about Doctors Express is their approach to working with family physicians. Since the sign went up in December, Fadirepo has been visiting physicians’ offices in south county and Annapolis to introduce himself and the concept of the new business.
“It is a collaborative effort with other doctors in the area. It is just a different access point,” Fadirepo said. “We take care of urgent need.”
The Doctors Express in Edgewater will handle laceration repairs, fractures and sprains. They’ll have X-ray capability but encourage patients with serious medical issues to go to the ER.
“If you are having a heart attack or you think you are having a stroke, go to the ER,” Fadirepo said.
He wants to be known in the area for patient-centered care.
“Even though it is episodic, we work with physicians,” he said.
For example, if a patient comes in and has an earache, they will follow up with the physician to see if the earaches are chronic or require further follow-up.
“We’ve been introducing ourselves, and we want this to be a partnership,” Fadirepo said. “We will likely have three physicians on staff by the time we open.”
The clinic will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. On the weekends, their hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The new Edgewater Doctors Express will be having an on Saturday, and the business opens officially on Sunday. The open house will include refreshments, activities for the kids and some giveaways, including an iPad.
