Edgewater Girl Scout, South River High Honored for Volunteer Efforts
The Deale Area Historic Society will also be honored.

An Edgewater Girl Scout, South River High School and the Deale Area Historical Society will all be honored this month for working on volunteer projects that had a large impact on the community, according to a release issued by the Volunteer Center For Anne Arundel County.
Siena Manoogian and Food Link will be honored with the Neighbor to Neighbor Award, for her Girl Scout Gold Project, Bay Babies in Need. South River High School, along with the Boys & Girls Club, will receive the Young Leaders Award for their work on the BGCAA mural project. The Deale Area Historic Society will be the recipient of the Living History Award for its War of 1812 Commemoration.
The other award recipients and awards are:
- WNAV Radio, Legacy Award
- A.A. Recreation and Parks for the All Sensory Trail, EcoStar Award
- Arc of the Chesapeake and Wegmans for Making a House a Home Project, Business-Based Award
- Eastport Volunteer Fire Dept. for Improving Medical Services Project, Innovation Award
- HOPE For All for Houses Into Homes Project, Faith-Based Award
- Chesapeake Children’s Museum for Kids ‘n’ Kaboodle, Kids at Hope® Award
- SPCA RACE Team, Pets and People Award
The seven Volunteer Project Hall of Fame finalists are:
- Anne Arundel Community College and the YWCA for Clothesline Project
- AARP for Tax Aides
- Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) for Emergency Operations Center Project
- Operation Welcome Home MD for BWI Project
- Girl Scouts for Camp Whipporwill Renovations
- Partners in Care for Boutique Project
- U.S. Naval Academy for Special Olympics Project
