Edgewater Woman To Hold Lupus Fundraiser in Memory of Friend
Edgewater's Katie Gateau is hosting a fundraiser Monday night at Cold Stone Creamery.
In February, Edgewater resident Katie Gateau and Kristin Watson lost their dear friend Bridget Beth Melvin when she passed away from lupus complications.
Since Melvin’s passing, the two friends began working with the Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) to help the 1.5 million people nationwide diagnosed with lupus.
On Monday, local residents can join their fight by going to the Cold Stone Creamery in Edgewater from 6-9 p.m. Part of the proceeds will go to Watson and Gateau’s support effort, “Team Bridget,” as they hope to raise $10,000 for the LFA.
