Family of Deceased Edgewater Man Seeks Community's Help
Kevin O'Brien's family is accepting food donations ahead of their funeral reception, where more than 500 people are expected to attend.

The family of Kevin O’Brien, a 25-year-old from Edgewater who , is seeking the community’s help as they prepare for their son’s funeral service Friday morning.

Taylor Newsome, O’Brien's cousin, told Patch she and her family are helping organize the funeral. In doing so, Newsome said they are accepting food donations to ease the stresses of planning the reception following the funeral.

“We would greatly appreciate any food donations for the reception. It is extremely hard to find things like that,” Newsome said.
Wendy Lee, a close friend of the O'Briens, said the family is expecting anywhere from 500 to 700 people at the funeral Friday morning.

The reception is scheduled for 11 a.m. at , so Newsome asked that any donations be delivered between 8:30 and 11 a.m. at the location on Mayo Road.
