Harwood Attempted Burglary Possibly Connected to Other Incidents

Police are looking for information about a green Chevrolet Tahoe they believe was used to rob homes in Montgomery County.

An attempted burglary incident in Harwood last week might be connected to a series of Montgomery County robberies, according to an Anne Arundel County Police Department release.

On Jan. 6, a woman from the 700 block of Harwood Road told police she arrived home to find a suspicious car parked outside her house. She saw one man in the car and another peering through her front window, according to police.

The men told her they were looking to gather firewood from some downed trees on her property, but when she got to her door, she noticed the door jam was cracked and the lock was damaged.

The home’s surveillance cameras captured footage of the suspicious vehicle—a green Chevrolet Tahoe with a luggage rack and tinted windows.

Southern District detectives believe the vehicle from the Harwood incident might be the same Tahoe involved in similar Montgomery County burglaries. In another surveillance video released by Montgomery County police, a similar-looking SUV is used by a man who breaks into a Silver Spring home.

Police are asking anyone with information about the vehicle or the attempted burglary in Harwood to contact the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Southern District at 410-222-1965 or contact Metro Crime Stoppers.
