Hello Edgewater-Davidsonville

At a young age, I was told to "never stop learning.”

It was never an intention of mine, but that life lesson stuck with me. After college, I still longed for classes. Not the papers or the tests, but just the simple act of learning. Whether American history, politics, European soccer or the ukulele, I can’t get enough when it comes to learning new things.

And it’s this love for learning that I know will help me in this next chapter of life as the new editor of Edgewater-Davidsonville Patch.

I’ve been a Patch editor since the fall of 2010 and I had heard amazing things about south county—the community, the character, the pride and charisma of lifelong residents. When the chance arose to move to the area, I knew I had to take it.

It’s probably no secret that I’m the "new Patch guy” in town, especially if you’ve been around the , but I wanted to formally introduce myself and say how incredibly excited and humbled I am about being your one-stop-shop for local news.

I’m learning more each day about the issues that matter to you, and as I grow as a south county resident myself, my desire is to become more connected to the pulse of the community. 

Being an online reporter requires hustle and adaptability, two things I know I can bring to Edgewater-Davidsonville Patch. I strive for fast, accurate reporting while engaging you on the issues that matter most, and that’s what I plan to do.

Some of the highlights of my Patch career so far have included meeting a , getting a behind-the-scenes look at , and covering perhaps I’ve ever seen.

I’ve helped a community replace , spoken with a Marine , and seen a soldier from Iraq.

As I seek to make Patch an even larger part of the community, I know there will be lots of opportunities to learn along the way. I’m totally new to this area of Anne Arundel County and I look forward to coffee shop gatherings and quick conversations. Ideally, you do all the talking and I’ll just listen.

So, that’s the attitude I bring to this new and exciting opportunity—humility and hustle.

My job is to provide you the most relevant news when it comes to the area but I know I have much to learn from you, the community, along the way. In truth, I believe that together we can continue to make Patch a central part of the Edgewater-Davidsonville community.
