Live 'la Vida Loca' This Cinco de Mayo

There’s even an opportunity to celebrate the holiday and support a Mexican orphanage at the same time.

For those interested in satisfying their sweet tooth more than enjoying adult beverages, Cakes by Rachael is offering a special menu of festive cupcakes to coincide with the holiday. Fifty percent of your purchase will go to the St. Innocents Orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico, in an effort to reduce gang- and drug-related violence.

As the engineer of famous cupcakes, Rachael Powers told Patch the orphanage works with boys too old for the orphanage by giving them an education and skills so they can avoid life on the streets.

Bartender “Doyle,” told Patch he’ll be concocting some of his favorite and most beloved margaritas. He’s also designed an assortment of coordinating shots that go well with various dishes at the restaurant.
